[OMS_MANAGERS] Big trucks on Main St?

Hi Jared,

The City of Dallas has encountered this issue as well and many years ago prohibited trucks (other than deliveries to business) from driving on the Main Street through town.  They must take an ancillary street that runs parallel to Main Street and through residential.  Not all cities have this option I realize. You might contact Scott White of City of Dallas.  I am copying him on this email and perhaps he can tell you how the City did this.  He wasn’t here at the time but should be able to put his hands on an ordinance or get some history from someone else perhaps in Public Works who have been here longer.

Hello,

Are any of your organizations in a City that prohibits big trucks driving down their Main Street or thru their Historic District?

We have many logging trucks in particular that constantly use our Main Street and we are wondering how we could go about getting them to re-route around it?

Anybody on here that has dealt with something like this?
