[OMS_MANAGERS] Update on OMSRG

My understanding is that this would replace funding for many of the programs set for this biennium that were lost when the bond package was canceled. It’s a good question though – I’ll see what I can find out!

I have another request.

Can we change the definition of small businesses in Oregon? Right now it is 500 employees or less. There's a big difference between Main Street businesses and something that even has 100 employees. The money that went out through Business Oregon last week that was gone in 22 minutes - I'm betting that none of our downtown businesses saw a single dollar of that.

But isn't this what they would have done anyway to take affect for January 2023? Not sure this does anything to replace what did not get funded because of lack of lottery bond sales.

Good afternoon! Some of you may have heard the news already, but for those who haven’t …

The Governor’s recommended budget was released yesterday and she is recommending that the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant be included at $5M! Here’s a link to the budget summary if you’re interested – this was confirmed minutes ago by our regional solutions coordinator. https://www.oregon.gov/das/financial/documents/2021-23_gb.pdf

Obviously the legislature will need to carry that through to the bond package so our work isn’t done, but having it in the recommended budget going in makes it a lot easier!

Cheers!
