Here's some information and updates from the National Main Street Center:

Results: NMSC Small Business Survey
Immediately following Thanksgiving and Small Business Saturday shopping promotions, Main Street America conducted a survey of over 1,000 small businesses to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our survey results indicate that, even with enthusiastic community support for shopping local, small business owners continue to suffer financially with the effects of the pandemic. Programs and Opportunities

Brother Grant Program
This month, NMSC kicked off a new collaboration with Brother International to support small businesses. Stay tuned to our channels in early January for details about a grant program exclusively for small businesses in Main Street America communities. Grant program applications will open the third week of January. Learn more<https://www.mainstreet.org/howwecanhelp/brother>.

Main Street Forward Awards
The converging impacts of COVID-19, national and local reckoning related to racial justice and equity, and cascading climate crises have challenged Main Streets in ways that none of us could have foreseen over this past year. But, in the midst of these generation-defining events and pressures, Main Street programs have demonstrated inspiring tenacity and creativity. To celebrate these efforts, NMSC is pleased to introduce the Main Street Forward Awards. This special awards program seeks to showcase forward-thinking Main Street recovery and resilience efforts at this unique and challenging moment. Winners will receive a $1000 prize to support their program and be featured at a dedicated awards plenary at the Main Street Now virtual conference in April. Encourage your communities to apply<https://www.mainstreet.org/blogs/national-main-street-center/2020/12/16/announcing-the-main-street-forward-awards?CommunityKey=c40a84d1-46b2-465c-985c-c08ed69081ab>.
