1. Parklets - there seems to be a lot of interest in creating parklet programs to allow expansion of restaurant or other uses in public spaces. We hosted a webinar a couple years ago w/Matthew Klebes (former executive director of The Dalles Main Street) on their parklet program. They were the first in our network to undertake this type of project. Attached is a copy of their applications and here is a link to the presentation Parklet Prezi Presentation<https://prezi.com/rsdbtvyuycd2/copy-of-the-dalles-main-street-parklets/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copy>
* Please be sure to share any of your efforts over the listserv!

1. OMS "Mornings on Main" Notes from Tuesday, May 26:
* Re-opening Conversation:
Lakeview - restaurants are re-inventing the spaces they have control of such as using off-street parking and covered sidewalk space for outdoor dining. Retail is still struggling w/mask requirements and salons are finding it difficult to do their job.
Klamath Falls - working with the city on a manual on parklets and pedlets although they have it in their city ordinance that alcohol isn't allowed in public spaces.
Beaverton - the city is working on an approval process to use public spaces and also looking at options for a full-width street closure. They have seen one business use a private parking lot for outdoor dining.
Albany - the mayor and restaurants worked together for a streamlined permitting process allowing internal staff decision rather having requests go before city council to use public spaces. Also looking at feasibility of turning one of the two-lane, one-way streets into a 1-lane that preserves parking but would allow for outdoor seating
Pendleton - they are looking at the feasibility of using streets and outdoor spaces for dining but aren't sure if the city is supportive
* Outdoor Signage:
Coos Bay has developed friendly "keep your distance" signage to use at the Farmers Market
* Closures:
Not seeing too many closures to date from the folks on the call; reports that it is challenging but doing ok; some businesses taking the opportunity to do remodeling
* Social Media:
Beaverton - working on doing a social media guide for businesses; seeking examples from other communities
Woodburn - doing a lot of social media updates as well as phone calls w/businesses
* Other Training Topics:
Funding plans/ideas for main street organizations
Ideas/examples to keep main street promotion committees engaged and effective (e.g., Beaverton has cancelled all events through 2020 although may put together a trick or treat if it seems appropriate closer to that date, but otherwise focusing on blogs, email newsletter, etc.; Albany hosted a virtual follow the chalk drawing event w/ the visitor's association as part of an Albany Loves Mom activity; Klamath Falls is delaying start of Summer Live Music and looking at how to right size events)
