Good afternoon, everyone!

Our board is discussing the possibility of making some of our governing documents available for public viewing via our website. We’ve done some due diligence on what we’re required to provide, what we don’t have to share, how to do minutes that are shareable, etc., but my board is curious what other Main Street (and other nonprofit) organizations are doing in the way of sharing their documents. Could you answer the following questions for me?

Does your organization publish meeting agendas and/or minutes to the public or your members?
If so, how are they published?
If not, how do you respond to members that may ask to see meeting minutes, etc.?
Can you think of any red flags to be aware of in sharing this information?
Does your organization publish your bylaws to the public or your members? (We do)
If so, do you simply publish them on a website?
If not, do you make them available to members or the public if asked?
Can you think of any red flags to be aware of in sharing this information?
Does your organization publish your financials (budget, monthly financial reports, etc.) to the public or your members?
No need for follow up on this one … I think I know where this one is headed. 😊

Thank you in advance for your responses!
