The AARP Livable Communities website contains a mix of best practices, research, ideas, slideshows, interviews, how-to's, publications and information about age-friendly efforts throughout the nation.      *   Women's Net: Amber Grant for Women - Reminders: A grant for women with businesses awarded in honor of Amber Wigdahl, who tragically passed away at the age of 19 before she was able to realize her business dreams.      *   What's Your Pitch? A startup funding competition put on by the USPAACC, the most established and largest organization representing Asian American business in the United States. The competition is open to all startups and offers winning early-stage businesses cash and in-kind prizes for their pitches. Must be for-profit, cannot have raised more than $1 million in equity capital other than from friends and family, all industries eligible.      *   OMS "Excellence on Main" Awards Now Open - Due July 13, 2021
We have refreshed the awards from the name to categories to the submission process. What hasn't changed is that the award nominations are an opportunity for YOU to honor the people, the projects, and the activities that are outstanding achievements in your community. Attached is info about the awards, the award categories, nomination questions, and more.

*        Eligible Applicants: The Excellence on Main Awards is open to all organizations participating in the "Main Street Track" of the Oregon Main Street Network, including Performing Main Street, Transforming Downtown, and Exploring Downtown levels.

*        Project Time Frame: If applicable, all projects must have been completed between July 2020 and June 2021.

*        Registration for the Online Application System: We are using our grants system for nominations this year To access the application, register at www.oprdgrants.org<http://www.oprdgrants.org>.      *   Diamonds in the Rough Deadline: May 14, 2021. Grants are to restore or reconstruct the facades of buildings that have been heavily altered over the years. The purpose is to return them to their historic appearance and potentially qualify them for historic designation (local or national). Grants may be awarded up to $20,000.
