Liz got ‘em all. KFDA also has the added benefit of being collocated with our economic development partners (Chamber of Commerce, Klamath County Economic Development Association, Discover Klamath). If there’s an opportunity for a strategic collaboration, that could make it an easier sell to everyone. Note – we are technically not on Main Street. We live in a city-owned building just past the end of our downtown. Also, depending on your vacancy situation, be prepared to defend why prime Main Street real estate should be occupied with a nonprofit vs. private enterprise, especially if you are using public (URA) funds to make it happen. This was one of the conversations we had when we moved into our new space … off Main).

Visibility, drop ins, credibility, staging area for events, conference room for board and committee meetings, easy access to the director for business owners, places to advertise events, merchandise, etc, ability to host meetings for the City to make it less formal, storing everything, and much more.
