In case you missed it, this is a reminder that Main Street America is once again partnering with our friends at American Express for the Neighborhood Champions program to support the small businesses in your communities for Small Business Saturday®! As in past years, all Main Street communities are automatically pre-qualified to serve as Neighborhood Champions on a first-come, first-serve basis. Why do we encourage communities to sign up to become Neighborhood Champions? All participants:

  *   Get access to complimentary materials and resources provided by American Express to help promote Small Business Saturday and the ongoing Shop Small® movement on your Main Street. They’ll receive a Small Business Saturday Event Kit with Shop Small merchandise (including tote bags, posters, and other promotional items).
  *   Plan and host an event to celebrate the small businesses in their community. It could be a kick-off breakfast event, a welcome station, or even a Shop Small scavenger hunt.
  *   Engage with local business owners and help them prepare for Small Business Saturday.

The application is NOW OPEN and will remain open through mid-November or until spots are filled – so please encourage your communities to sign up early to secure their spot!

To help you get the word out about the Neighborhood Champion program, I am attaching a marketing toolkit for your use. I am also including some social media, blog, and newsletter images for you to use as well.
