[OMS_MANAGERS] Oregon Main Street Listserv Policy

Hi all,

We are going through a process to clean-up the contacts for our Oregon Main Street listserv. Since we last cleaned up the listserv, it has ballooned to over 300 members - many of whom have long left their main street organization. During this process, we will be checking the listserv list against our primary point of contact for all participating main street members to ensure we have the correct person added to the listserv. We will make every attempt to ensure any additional individuals your organization has requested to be added to the listserv is also included. While we are in the process, it is a good time to remind you of our listserv policy:

One of the benefits of participating in the Oregon Main Street Network is the Oregon Main Street listserv (oms_managers). All communities participating in the Network at any of the tiers (Connected Communities, Affiliated Main Street, Designated Main Street, Accredited Main Street, or Rural Regional Main Street) must have their primary point of contact signed up for the listserv.

About the Oregon Main Street Listserv

  *   It is the primary communication tool that Oregon Main Street uses to share information that is relevant to local program efforts including workshops and trainings, grant opportunities, updates from Main Street America(tm), reporting requirements, best practices, etc.
  *   It is also an important tool for communities participating in the Oregon Main Street Network to share information and resources and seek advice.

Sharing Information
Messages can be posted to the listserv by emailing: oms_managers at omls.oregon.gov<mailto:oms_managers at omls.oregon.gov>

Who Can Participate in the Listserv

  *   The Oregon Main Street Listserv is a closed listserv. Only members of participating organizations may receive and post messages.

  *   In addition to the primary point of contact, the local main street organization can request that other individuals connected with their organization and who authorize the local main street organization to share their email address with Oregon Main Street staff, be added to the listserv. No other individuals may be added without the specific request of the participating main street organization.
  *   Key statewide partners may also be approved by Oregon Main Street (e.g., Business Oregon, RDI).
  *   Oregon Main Street retains the authority to allow access by any individual or group to the listserv.

Local Program Agreements

  *   Local programs agree to have their primary point of contact be added to the listserv.
  *   The primary point of contact agrees to read and share relevant communications from Oregon Main Street with local boards and/or key partners.
  *   Local programs will keep OMS staff updated on changes to the listserv, including primary point of contact, changes in board members or other authorized local users.
