[OMS_MANAGERS] Facade improvement grants

Marcy and all,

LA Grande has been pretty successful with our façade grant program.

Funded with Urban Renewal Funds and administered by the La Grande Main Street program we offer 50% matching funds for projects up to a maximum grant of $7500 (50% of $15,000 project.  This seems to work well for most small façade improvement projects like awnings, paint and minor improvements that are frequently being done as tenant improvements.

We also have a larger Urban renewal grant program that is designed for bigger more full scale rehabilitation projects but the $7500/50% seems to work really well for most of our smaller projects You can find details on the La Grande Main Street Website at https://www.lagrandemainstreet.org/facade-grants.html

Good afternoon,

We are currently exploring the possibility of providing an opportunity for our downtown businesses to apply for facade improvement grants. What have you found to be your most successful strategies for small grants? Specifically, I'm referring to a sweet spot for match requirements (if any) etc. We want this to feel accessible and equitable for our downtown businesses as much as we can.
