[OMS_MANAGERS] Executive Director Annual Review Process

Hi all,

Am interested in updating our executive director annual review material. The process that is typically recommended through Main Street America is outlined below (our sample Policies and Procedures handbook<https://www.oregon.gov/oprd/OH/Documents/OMS%20Policies%20and%20Procedures%20-%20WEB.pdf> also has some useful information). Does this align with the processes you have in place? Is there something else you do or like better?


  1.  Establish date for review: 30-days, 90-days, then annually thereafter.
  2.  Put together a small committee to develop the local process. This can be the existing Executive Committee. Make sure the executive director is award of what the process will look like.
  3.  Develop an evaluation form and have all board members complete individually and give back to the committee to compile. This should be based on what the board's expectations are, the job description, and any goals that have been established. Also have the executive review. A couple samples have been attached from The Point (Main Street America's sample documents).
  4.  Sit down with the executive director and have a conversation about what is going well, what are challenges.
  5.  Bring highlights back to board to review.
