[OMS_MANAGERS] Important Notice re: funding for OMSRGCommittee

Thank you, Sheri. I was going to send notice out on this last night. We were afraid of this as the overwhelming testimony on this had been from cities supporting other sections of the bill. The requests they argued for water treatment needs far exceeded the amount of dollars included in the bill for that purpose.

Frankly, it may be too late for us at this point. At the work session there most likely will not be an opportunity for any testimony. Only someone on the committee has to stand up now. Talking to individual legislators on the committee is our only hope now and the primary legislators I talked to yesterday afternoon implied that leadership is committed to getting this amended bill passed through committee this morning.

I have one committee member indicating that they are willing to raise the issue of adding main street back so we will see how it plays out. He says the current amended bill is an attempt to show those who testified that the legislature listened to testimony and that the committee responded by offering the alternative amended bill.

I appreciate the update on this.

With the backing of my Board, I have sent a letter from our organization informing the members of this committee about the importance of this funding across our state.  I made sure to copy my state and local elected officials and county Economic Development Department as well so they would be aware of this potential cut.

I just wanted to give you an update that an Amended version of SB 5531-4 was released this afternoon by the Joint Committee On Ways and Means Subcommittee On Capital Construction<https://olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2025R1/Committees/JWMCC/Overview>. Funding for the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant for the next biennium was removed from the bill.

There is a work session scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.

Attached is a copy of the amended bill as well as the recommendations by the LFO which lists the recommended projects for funding.
