Just a quick followup after 3 ½ hours of public testimony on HB5531 this afternoon. The public hearing structure today was very constrained with so many people signed up to testify. Each speaker was given a grand total of two minutes to make their pitch in support of their project which were far reaching from water treatment plants to Head Start facilities. There was no testimony on sections of the bill itself, just individual projects and there were a lot of that as you can tell by taking 1:00 to 4:30 and dividing by 2 minutes. By the end of the hearing, only two committee members remained, the chair and the vice chair to do the 2:00 timing.
There will be a second public hearing next Friday where they will be taking testimony remotely at least. Also I believe written testimony will still be allowed on the link I shared earlier.
Happy to share more information on this bill through my personal email address of ninerharv2 at msn.com.

Subject: [OMS_MANAGERS] Lottery Bond Funds Hearing
Good afternoon Main Street managers,
One of the bills that I am tracking as a Restore Oregon executive committee member is HB 5531, the Lottery Bond Capital funds bill. Section 10 (1) of that bill includes funding for the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant. The legislature has a public hearing for scheduled for this bill on Friday. If you would like more information on the bill, you can contact me off the list at my personal email at ninerharv2 at msn.com.
