Oregon Department of Justice will join us to talk about Sanctuary State Law and answer what they can about questions you all have been posing at Mornings on Main around recent immigration activity. Oregon DOJ’s Sanctuary Promise Community Toolkit includes some know your rights information from partner agencies like ACLU, Oregon Law Center, Immigrant Legal Resource Center, and National Immigration Law Center. 4) The Oregon Department of Justice Civil Rights Unit operates Oregon’s Sanctuary Promise program and hotline for community members to report suspected sanctuary law violations and provide support for targeted individuals and their families.  This presentation covers what Oregon’s sanctuary laws do and do not say, as well as services and resources available to targeted individuals and their families.

Recognize Your Community with the Oregon Heritage Excellence Awards
The Oregon Heritage Excellence Awards<https://www.oregon.gov/oprd/OH/Pages/Awards.aspx#one> recognize individuals, organizations and projects for outstanding heritage preservation efforts in Oregon, drawing public attention to these efforts, and raising the quality of heritage‐oriented activities. Awards will be presented during the 2026 Oregon Heritage Conference<https://www.oregon.gov/oprd/OH/Pages/heritageconference.aspx>, April 29 - May 2 in Woodburn. The awards are presented by Oregon Heritage, a division of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department that houses the Oregon Heritage Commission and the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office. The Oregon Heritage Excellence Awards honor those that have made the most of available resources and skills and are given for exceptional and meritorious work by organizations or individuals.

To help small businesses grow, innovate, and support their local communities, American Express is teaming up with Main Street America this Small Business Saturday(r) to launch the Amex Shop Small Grants Program. The Program will provide an initial $5 million to fund 250 grants of $20,000 each to eligible small business owners across the U.S. Plus, every time an American Express Card Member shops with their eligible Card at a qualifying U.S. small business on November 29, 2025, American Express will donate an additional $1 to fund additional grants.
