Happy New Year Main Street leaders!
We hope you're having a great first week of 2026, and our Round-Up for the week hopes to help keep that schedule on track. There are important schedule reminders and updates for January for the OMS program, as well as lots of deadlines for grants coming up in the next few weeks. This is one to pay attention to!

January 15th: There will be no MOM call this week, due to the OMS Network Meeting.

January 22nd: We'll be back on our normal schedule for Mornings on Main starting on this date. However, since we skipped Third-Thursday we'll have a guest presenter joining us from Main Street America. Tasha Sams, Education Director at MSA will join us to talk about the new and improved Academy on MSA's website. With free and paid courses, there's resources available for every member. Board Institute 101 | January 21,20 26, 8:30 - 10:00 am | Registration<https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/J9p4gP2JQxyHkaip0hoAFg>  OMS Board Institute is for board members who are new to Main Street or current board members who would like a refresher! You are also welcome to share the link with board member candidates. Registration is required. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Also, encourage any board or potential board members to register even if they can't attend. They will get a link to the webinar and will have a 2-week window to watch. In this session, we cover:

  *   Overview of the nationally recognized Main Street Approach(tm),
  *   Introduction to the Oregon Main Street Network, and
  *   Grounding in the legal duties of board members and typical roles and responsibilities.

Fourth quarter quarterly reports for Accredited, Designated, and Affiliated communities are due January 10th, 2026. If you are overdue on any reports, please have them submitted no later than January 10th, 2026 to meet your agreement requirements for 2025.

Next round opens January 2026. Placemaking Grants fund state and local REALTOR(r) association-led projects that create new, outdoor public gathering spaces and destinations in a community on unused or underused sites.

Catalyst Design Grant, Salazar Architect (Closes - January 13, 2026) | Access Link<https://www.salazarch.com/pro-bono>
This program makes a gift of up to $15,000 in pro bono design services to an organization that owns a property and is looking at options for adding, revitalizing, or completing adaptive re-use to housing, or community-serving commercial spaces. Salazar will work with the organization to develop a series of design recommendations through the lens of our three Design Labs - Community Design, Wellbeing Design, and Sustainable Design.

To help small businesses grow, innovate, and support their local communities, American Express is teaming up with Main Street America this Small Business Saturday(r) to launch the Amex Shop Small Grants Program. The Program will provide an initial $5 million to fund 250 grants of $20,000 each to eligible small business owners across the U.S.
