January MoM Call Schedule |
January 15th: There will be no MOM call this week, due to the OMS Network Meeting.
January 22nd: We'll be back on our normal schedule for Mornings on Main starting on this date. However, since we skipped Third-Thursday we'll have a guest presenter joining us from Main Street America. Tasha Sams, Education Director at MSA will join us to talk about the new and improved Academy on MSA's website. With free and paid courses, there's resources available for every member. Board Institute 101 | January 21,20 26, 8:30 - 10:00 am | Registration<https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/J9p4gP2JQxyHkaip0hoAFg> OMS Board Institute is for board members who are new to Main Street or current board members who would like a refresher! You are also welcome to share the link with board member candidates. Registration is required. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Also, encourage any board or potential board members to register even if they can't attend. They will get a link to the webinar and will have a 2-week window to watch. In this session, we cover:
* Overview of the nationally recognized Main Street Approach(tm),
* Introduction to the Oregon Main Street Network, and
* Grounding in the legal duties of board members and typical roles and responsibilities.

To help small businesses grow, innovate, and support their local communities, American Express is teaming up with Main Street America this Small Business Saturday(r) to launch the Amex Shop Small Grants Program. The Program will provide an initial $5 million to fund 250 grants of $20,000 each to eligible small business owners across the U.S.

Both Oregon 250th Grants and National Endowment for the Humanities grants to celebrate the 250th are available.

Next round opens January 2026. Placemaking Grants fund state and local REALTOR(r) association-led projects that create new, outdoor public gathering spaces and destinations in a community on unused or underused sites.
