Nancy and or-rooters:

Because some of the FREYLIG's lived in San Diego at one time I did a Yahoo search.
There was one telephone listing (in this area) for C. FREYDIG. I called the number and
found it disconnected.

This surname is so unusual that I'll bet if you find a living person with that name.... they
will be related. I did a search for that name on WorldConnect Project and came up with
only one name Magdalena FREYDIG (probably in Switzerland), in the late 1700's. This
reminds me of my RULAFORD's. There is only one person still living with this name, and
she married a RULAFORD, but had no children. The only living RULAFORD is female,
and she married a KLINE. So there will be no more RULAFORD's. (For the record: that
surname name is an alias that my maternal grandfather assumed in 1875.) :-)

I hope you can find a descendant who will want these items your friend found. In my family
a box of photo's was found in the attic of the house of an uncle after he died. They were
passed to a local historical society that just happened be in contact with a cousin of mine.
I now have custody of those photo's! Here is one of them.

This photo was taken on the day that Asa Baker and Maggie Houk were married:
October 6, 1896, in Lebanon, OR.

Good hunting all,
Cecil

  Subject: [or-roots] FREYDIG Family

Happy Holidays, Rooters! I'm searching for someone from the FREYDIG family. A friend found an old tin box at a second-hand store containing Freydig family documents (including marriage, birth and naturalization documents), photos, letters, etc. etc. Because he couldn't stand to see it just sitting there, he bought it and we are now trying to locate descendants of the family so we can re-unite these wonderful old things with a family member.
