[or-roots] How did they get here; (from archive)

In 1880-1883 trains provided passage to SF and from
there many went by sail or steam boat to the Columbia
River, and from there by stage or wagon to destination.
By 1883 the train had apparently gotten inland to
Corvallis, but one had to stage or wagon it to the coast
ie Bayview, Waldport.
