Good job Jim! Your rememberer is working better than mine today -- the
renaming of this landmark was mentioned previously on this list along
with Roxy Ann's story.

McArthur says, "Roxy Ann Peak, Jackson County. Will G. Steel was
authority for the statemnet that this well-known feature in the Rouge
River Valley was at one time known as Skinner Butte. He said that the
present name was bestowed by pioneer packers in 1854 in honor of Roxana
Baker, an early settler nearby."

Speeling would make a difererence hear - 'Skinner' vs 'Skinner's' - say
in a USGS GNIS search.
