[or-roots] missing Marks family

Carol,

Yes, my Marks family is related to the Benjamin Marks family that went to 
Wallowa County!  I have seen the article an article in that family in the Wallowa 
history book.  In fact, that book was where we first got info attaching our 
great-grandfather, James P. Marks, to his Oregon Trail parents, Bluford and 
Martha.

James P. Marks was a brother to Benjamin Marks.  Benjamin settled on the 
Imnaha River very early, I understand, and it sounds as though there are many 
descendants there.  James P. left eastern Oregon around 1880 for Wyoming and then 
Montana.  The family lost touch with its Oregon branches.

If you are descended from this Marks family, then we are distant cousins!  
I'd love to hear back from you.
