We were living in Fremont (Seattle) and I was in a basement apartment at the
time visiting a neighbor. Dishes started rattling and we thought my
brothers (we lived in the apt. above) was wrestling. Didn't take long to
realize what it was. I grabbed my two year old niece ( I was 12 in 1949)
and ran up the outside stairs leading to the alley. My Mother came running
out and was yelling, "Where's the baby?" When she saw my niece she promptly
fainted.
