[or-roots] Winter of 1949/50

Eastern Washington state was pretty bad too.  We were living about 5 miles 
out of Soap Lake near my parents ranch.  The snow was about 2 1/2  ft deep I 
think, and such a crust on it I could walk on top.   Well, I only weighed in 
about 117 then.
