I have been a member of this list for years, and for quite sometime 
have just been more a bystander than a contributer.  Over the years 
there have been periods where members have been unhappy with the 
content of the list and these little wars have sprung up.  It seems 
most of the time it is newer members who who think everything should be 
pure genealogy and that history unless it concerns their family is 
unimportant.  What boring lives they must lead.  Some of the best 
discussions of the past were about jobs and pay differences of the 
1800's in OR or the discussion we all had about Van Port and the flood. 
  Cecil has been a big contributer of information to this site, it's to 
bad that if you don't care for what he offers that you don't just use 
your delete button instead of your mouths.
