Don't leave Dan. I agree with you. I have sat on the sidelines and said
nothing, hoping this "war" or whatever it is would just go away. I do know
how to use my delete key and I do use it - however, I do find Cecil's posts
interesting and I do scan most of his stuff looking for information that may
have something to do with my own ancestors. What I object to is his zingers
and am sure I will get mine for writing this. Genealogy lists should be open
to anyone interested in the particular list they join. I'm starting to not
like the spirit of the list and feel bad for the folks that have unsubscribed
- after all, one may have been my relative and could have supplied me
information for an ancestor I'm looking for. Hopefully, this "war" will die
down and we can all get down to the business of genealogy. If not, don't
worry Cecil, I won't let the door hit my a** on the way out. And another
zinger I didn't like was the possibility of being tagged a "narrow minded
Nazi" if I happen to think differently.
About me. I have been actively researching genealogy for about 10 years. I
was born in Oregon, I'm the gg niece of an Oregon State Senator, my
descendants traveled the Oregon Trail in 1862 (some in the 1840's but I can't
find when), and I'm in the process of establishing proof of an ancestor that
was on the Lewis and Clark expedition. So, I do feel I have a right to be on
this list and the right to say how I feel.
