Dear Ray;
What are the names of your Powell ancestors? Maybe I could help
you find info on your grandfather's side of the family.
I live by Portland , Oregon and might be able to at least direct
you tosomeone who might be of help. I am at a dead end with my
father's side and I hope maybe someone out there might lead me to
the family line.
I have an old document on the Powell line. The only Calvin I find
was Calvin Andrew Powell, son of peter Powell and Nancy Cyrus,
b. Feb 19,1867 in Linn Co. Or. M. Ella Woodruff. Bur. in Powell
Cemetery.- that is close to Scio in Linn Co.

I have found good information on the following web page. It takes
patience and checking of the messages every few days. I have found
living relatives on it.

You can substitute any family name instead of Powell.

I don't know where you live but if you are in Oregon there are other good
ways. Have you checked Census records?

This is a challenging research but lots of fun. If I can be of any help
let me know.

If you are close to Washington state the National Aechives are a
wonderful source but expect to take a full day or more. They have
almost every kind of record you'd want.

Best of luck on your search.
