I really appreciate the tips. I happen to live in Corvallis and have been
able to go to gg granfather Calvin II and Clarissa Richardson POWELL's
gravesite. I have also been to the property that they homesteaded in Linn
County in the mid 1850's - Some of their sons names are: Calvin III b June
30, 1815, Charles Wesley b. Jan 18, 1817, Samuel Thomas b. Feb 3, 1822 (he
homesteaded property adjacent to Calvin II), Russell Bartholomew b.Aug 23,
1825 ( my g grandfather), Joseph Ambrose b. June 27, 1833, Giles Bruce b.
April 17, 1835, Edwin b. Dec 23, 1841. There were some sisters in that line
but I figured that only the last name of Powell would help in making a
connection. A lot of my info I have gotten from others without the benefit
of documentation so there is much of it that I do have that I have not yet
personally proven. I have seen documents that I feel prove my lineage back
to Calvin II. Census records and an actual handwritten will in the Lane
County archives have convinced me I have that much correct. Much of the
other makes sense but I haven't had the time to prove it to myself with
documentation so I have just taken it on faith until I have more time.

Could you give me an address or location where the Powell Cemetary near Scio
is at? I found a cemetary on Richardson Gap road that had some Powells in
it, but it wasn't referred to as the Powell Cemetary. I think it is called
the Providence Cemetary. It is right next to (what else?) a church.
