To Walt:

I found another relative quite by accident. He was buried
in the Poor House graveyard in Hennepin Co., Min. I found a site posted by a volunteer who had discorverd that
the 500 souls had been removed from that cemetery, moved several miles and reburied with out records. This
kind person found those records and posted them. I had
not heard of that particulat cemetery so luckily checked it
out.

I remember as teenager back in the early 50s when they build Folsom Dam and Lake near me. They spent days just removing all of the known graves from the valley and putting them all together at a new site with the remains and the stones. It was quite a job and the new cemetery is quite big but the relatives can still go and see there ancestors and that's what its all about. I don't know when we took this terrible attitude toward the dead but I think we need to do all we can to see that Oregon gets new laws that protect them. It should flat out be against the law to desecrate a grave or move it without the permission of the descendants and or a court order and then they should only be moved not just plowed under and forgot.
