Some time in the 1940's we went to visit Uncle Charlie and Aunt Elsie in Redmond. I was left behind to spend a few days and return to Foster by bus a few days later.

At diner the following day I found creamed corn on my plate: I didn't like creamed corn in those days. Uncle Charlie told me that Aunt Elsie had slaved to make it; so I ate it. Later I found the can from which it came in the garbage.

Shame on you... Uncle Charlie.
