Les...
I'm still not sure what you're looking for and you may have this information,
but I show Asa John Jones b. Dec 4, 1906 at Azalea, Douglas County, Oregon d.
Dec 16, 1986 at Grants Pass, Josephine County, Oregon; married Verla Mae
Holloway b. September 21, 1913 at Myrtle Point, Oregon d. June 25, 1977 at
Roseburg, Oregon. I show their marriage taking place November 29, 1929 at Grants
Pass, Oregon. In the account that I have, Asa John Jones is the son of Susan
McGinnis (Maginnis) and Sanford Goodel Jones. I show one other son, for Susan
with Mr. Jones and that is Frank James Jones, born December 16, 1907 in Azalea
and died ca. 1973 in Salem. I know that Susan's descendents connected with
Keller, Buschman, Nelson, and Troyer surnames, but I don't have dates, etc.
Given Azalea's location, it would have been probably easier to access Grants
Pass than Roseburg in the 1920's. I'm assuming you also know that Susan
McGinnis was married to Marcellus Rondeau and had numerous Rondeau offspring.
The Douglas County Museum library at the Fairgrounds just south of Roseburg
has a fairly comprehensive collection of family information for many early
families.
I'm not connected with this family in any way...I've just got information on
a number of South Umpqua Valley pioneers, particularly those in the
Canyonville, Days Creek, Tiller-Drew area.
