In the utmost serious thoughts.
I know if I can see what is happening to our Country that was started for
freedom.
We now have slowly let it slip.
Just on some points? => no on all points.
We who care about the country have to sit and watch while times change.
Prices go up, people want more money, labor unions price labor so high
companies go to other countries to survive.
Farmers cant pay by weight for berry pickers any more and kids cant earn
Ice cream and spending money, oh we tossed a few berries, mostly the soggy
ones that made a good splat on our friends head when he/she was not looking.
But today => there are too many things out of whack, and this is our
history, downfall and demise as prices go up and quality goes down, people
all over out of work because the factories have moved out. I live just a
few miles from the Santiam Cannery where there are less and less veggies, I
live out in the farm lands and see flat land being covered with cheap made
houses and paved streets we cant afford to move to because there are not
enough jobs to pay all the people who are moving in, the farm fields that
are not being covered with some type of building either sit empty or are
covered in grass for seed because the cannery cant pay enough with the labor
so high , one day those things you like, Corn, Beans, Brussels, Hops, Mint
( saw 2 mint fields go grass last year) , Straw berries and the like, is
getting less and less, here all I seen last 4 years is grass , not like
before with all the veggies, the kids cant cut them any more now they have
machines, the people who need to make money to buy machine picked veggies
have no money because they were pushed out , and the list just goes on, want
to do an agriculture of Oregon study ? Just look at all the details. We used
to go out as a family and pick, now we cant even cross the fields to go
fishing because they close the river to catch and release save for salmon
and steelhead =
I have an old garage here - used to be a Richfield gas station in the
50's, now - I do piece works trying to get ready at almost 60 to run my shop
because I heard my money will be chopped when my last kid graduates, for 16
years I have been my wife's caregiver and she has SSI, as Oregon goes, it
will not pay caregivers and once the kids are all of age I am flat for my
services of a stay at home Dad - Mr Mom if you will, almost disabled my self
with ostio porosis and same arthritis, degenerative joint disease and other
things I try to get past the cramps and muscle aches to look forwards as far
as I can, but in a small view, there are many things the could be changed
that would make the state more money and the people if they would just do
some study on history.
Any how, I got hooked on the things that are changing, thanks Diane,
sorry list for the long ramble ( oh and PS since I was Mr Mom 16 years I
was told I get no social security because the many years I worked dont
count, it is only the last 10<sigh>
!
Happy Seasons
