Kudos to you for saying what I for one and I'm sure others may have been 
thinking.  I have an entry by one of my ancestors in the Prineville area saying 
what a great sight it was to see hundreds of the local native population rounded 
up in some sort of corral, waiting to be taken to a newly formed reservation. 
(Probably on some God forsaken land with little water and less vegetation or 
wildlife.)  I shuddered when I read it, disappointed that one of my ancestors 
would take pleasure in such a sight.  I don't care what they did or who they 
may or may not have attacked --- I would do the same if someone came and took 
my home and property away, telling me it was no longer mine and that I couldn't 
live there anymore.  It was just one of several very sad chapters in our 
county's history.    Midge
