[or-roots] Historic Cemeteries

Thanks, I should have put more information in from the article, as it goes
into greater detail. The only death certificate that was filed was from one
of the people identified below, and as the article says, "Settlers buried
their relatives and friends on their homesteads, creating neighborhood
cemeteries. Such is the Paulina Prairie Cemetery. ...there were no
churches or funeral homes. LaPine was a hamlet. Neighbors helped each
other bury the dead - preparing the body, building the coffin, digging the
grave and performing the service, all on their own." Filing a death
certificate required riding all the way to Prineville and back...not a
single day trip.

So, those routes have been investigated, but still there are some
unidentified plots. I'm just hoping someone reading the list might have a
note somewhere about an ancestor who was buried in the area (that isn't
listed in the first message).

Thanks for your help though...they're valuable ideas!

Riki
