Excerpts:
It says that he is a son of Hugh and Diona (Young) Currin, the former a native of Virginia and the latter of Indiana. The father crossed the plains to Oregon in 1845, the mother arriving in the state two years later. Their marriage occurred in 1849.
.....
In 1902 George J. Currin sold out and took up his residence in Heppner, later, in 1904, purchasing a ranch of twenty thousand acres near the town, and he has since been extensively engaged in sheep-raising with his two sons, Hugh C. and Edward R. Currin.
In Clackamas county, June 1, 1875, Mr. Currin was united in marriage.

Thank you, Sue ..... The Heiples and Poppletons are so very elusive. Both immigrated here in 1852 and 1853, respectively ........ George J. Currin was also a member of the state Legislature. It is his father, Hugh Currin, or his brother, Hugh F. Currin, that is of interest.
Still on the prowl for Wm. G. Poppleton
Thank you again. Twyla
