What time frame are we talking about here, I am from Lane County and
know
some of the legal folks both current and past, well in last fifty years,
plus know of some of the really oldster's histories.



Sorry to butt in here but this post caught my eye for numerous reasons!
And to top it off, I see your email address says "Reedsport" in it.  My
mother went to high school in Reedsport in the '40's and she now works
in Eugene (still) for Harrang, Long and has been there for about 35
years.  Way back when it was still Johnson, Johnson and Harrang.  So
chances are pretty good if you know some legal folks in Lane County, you
would know the name Joan Wise ... am I correct?

My mother's family is what got me started in genealogy; our ancestors
came over on the Simpson wagon train in 1846 and settled in Lane County.
That would be the Kimsey and Jones line.  My mother's maiden name is Cox
and that's the line that I started researching first and have the most
information on.  But I think the Cox line didn't come to Oregon until
the late 1800's.
