I went to the Salem Archives and copied four of my uncles Military records from Word War I. Three enlisted at the same time (brothers) and were sent to Vancouver Barracks in Washington.
I am trying to interpret some of the answers on the forms. I tried to type it carefully as I could reading with a magnifying glass. :
Under the heading of Rank and Promotions: Distinguised service. Medals and citations.
4 X.
Under the heading of Locations:
5A E4
Length of service Jan 31, 1918 to June 16, 1918 France.
Under Military Service:
Co. D 25th Engineers, transferred to Co. D 33rd Engineers, No. 4 Cas Def. 33rd Engineers; 28th Co 7th Bn. 151st D.B.
I would appreciate any help that I can get. Is there anyway to find out where in France.
