On November 18th of this year I sent a genealogy query to the reference staff at Salem Public Library about the accidental death of my cousin Gerald Miles and his wife Ellen who lived in Sweet Home OR.  I made a rather general request for any information about this incident...obit...news article...etc.  The incident occurred in September of 1952!!  The request was processed on November 23rd and I received a news article from the Salem Organ Statesman newspaper dated Sunday September 28, 1952 which told of the fire and also of family members and other details on November 25th.  Needless to say I was delighted.  What was the cost of this fine effort???    $1.00... one dollar.  With a large smile on my face the thank you note along with payment in full 8-)  will go in tomorrow's mail.   Thank you Salem Public Library staff!!!   Blessings from MN      Jim
