All my whining inspired Judy to email me off list with a genuine Oregon
question;

Albert Samuel Bogard. He was born 12-13-1830 and died 5-9-1866. I do not
know where he was born and cannot prove that he died in Oregon. However,
his widow shows up in the next census in Oregon. She was pregnant with her
8th child when he passed away. I would really like to know who his parents
were.

In 1860, I found them in Linda Township ((remember how I was so sure "named
townships" was an east of the mountains thing? apparently not entirely)
Yuba Co, California.

Bogert, Albert   29 Ind
	Betsy A   24 "
	Mary J.    5  CA
	Adelia A.  3  "
	William W. 5/12 CA

I tried to find out about him down there, but from the children's birth
places in 1870 Census I think he is buried in Oregon and it is probably just
as well as Linda no longer exists.

Here she is in 1870; Calapooya precinct douglas Co

Bogard Betsey 34	Ohio
	mary    15	CA
	Adelia  13	"
	William 11	"
	Wallace  9	"
	Eliza    7	OR
	Grant    6  "
	Vincent  4  "

Here are three of the boys in 1880;
