[or-roots] Where to get a book printed?

If LazerQuick is like Kinkos or AlphaGraphics or Staples or OfficeMax. . . -- I'd say go see them.
With a book that size, you could pretty easily do it at home, if you don't care about "back to back" --
but I always have a challenge with that issue on my printer (well, make that my brain, but who cares? <G>)
Doing a PDF is a great idea -- that way the pages are stable, so no "orphans" going from one page to the
other.
Anyway, consider the cost of your time, and the ink/paper, and frustration if you do it wrong. Then,
compare that to the outside print house.
Now, I will say, that if it has color, it will be much more costly to have it printed. But, if you do
that, again, the PDF is your friend. Have the whole thing printed B/W, and then the color pages printed
separately. They can be inserted later.
This means you can't have the job fully automated, but it still will work better, and much cheaper, to not
pay for color for B/W pages.
Good luck,
Pat (in Tucson)

|I have created a book from Family Tree Maker. I can convert
|it to PDF to
|have it printed. It is about 60 pages long.
|
|Where is the best place to go to get this printed? Should I just use
|something like LazerQuick? I can print it here at home and
|will be looking
|at the cost of paper, toner, drum, etc to compare.
|
|thanks,
