For starters USGS lists a cemetery in Waldport, but viewing the aerial photo
it seems to be undeveloped timberland?

about half way down the page is a picture of the "Waldport Cemetery,
Waldport, Oregon"
which I believe is Memorial in Waldport.

page above and at the bottom of the page was someones sweet little daughter
making what some people might consider an inappropriate offer to anyone who
chooses to follow the link.

personally I don't mind this a bit, and have even indulged my curiosity and
clicked on a link or two like that, but I thought I should warn folks, I
think it is a little strange to find a link like  that on a legitimate
genealogy web page, but whatever. Also some of these pages are loaded with
pop-ups and no that is NOT a double entendre.

Okay back to genealogy;
there are a number of Hayes surnames on the obit page there, but not your
folks

a quick check of Oregon Historic record index reveals the possibility that
family legend is at least half wrong;

Looking for the burial place of Colbert and Cynthia Hayes.They were on the
1900 census living with their son William in CottageGrove. No listing in
1910. William and his childern are buried in the cemetery just west of
CottageGrove. Family stories say that Colbert  was buried in Waldport
