Sherry;
It appears that Clatsop county is very non-internet oriented with respect to
their surveyors office;
Public Works
Edward Wegner Jr.
1100 Olney Avenue
Astoria, OR 97103
(503) 325-8631
roads at co.clatsop.or.us
seems to be the only contact point they offer online, the Surveyor works
under Mr. Wegner apparently.
Okay according to OR-Maps dot com;
Jeri Sue Ponder
Clatsop County Contact
503-338-3612
jponder at co.clatsop.or.us
is the Clatsop county maps contact. Okay fall back ten and punt; apparently
she is only connected to GIS info which probably won't help you at all
As you may have noticed I did find a map online that shows the tax lots and
property boundaries in Clatsop County. Unfortunately it does not give names
either current or historic. If it is historic info you are looking for the
Historic society or genealogy society would probably be your best bet, I
think maybe the Ball studiou link I posted earlier is part of teh web site
of the folks who would be your best bet.
If you are just interested in the name, I would call or email Mr. Wegner, he
probably has someone who could look it up for you, keeping in mind that
thanks to our wonderful environmental awareness here in the US that has
caused us to export most of or wood fiber consumption to third world
equatorial jungles that are of course much better adapted to being clear cut
and much more ecologically well managed than our PNW woods were, our local
governments are very short funded and short handed.
If I knew more specifically what information beyond the name you were
interested in I might still be able to help, but if the name is what you
need I think the Surveyor is your best bet.

Subject: [or-roots] Silver Point Cliffs, now known as ?? near Arch Rock
Hi,
In the course of doing gen research I am looking for any original
information about this subdivision in Clatsop County. It was platted
in April 1894 and according to the clerks office was changed in 1927
when the highway cut through it. Is anyone familiar with this area and
know where records might be for the original sales?
Any clues appreciated! Thanks in advance,
Sherry in Port Townsend, WA
