Carla;

It sounds like the "randomness gremlins" got you the same way they got me
for jury duty; I had been a registered voter in Oregon for more than 20
years and never called for jury duty. Then I finally got called up for duty.
Next year I get called again. I thought that was a little strange; I think
they skipped a year and then again and the year after that I got to go to
Eugene for a federal court panel. In all that I was on two panels and out in
first round both times, only once did I even see a defendant.

I got a nice long break, but I think I've been called up for our local
justice court now for about four years running. That one isn't too serious
though, I completely forgot to check in the first time and only remembered
it next time half way through. The last two years I only had to call in once
and actually remembered it. I would actually kind of enjoy it here since it
is such a burden for me to get to the court room, it's almost a block from
my house.

I figure with any luck the next time I actually have work I'll get a summons
to Roseburg again.

Les
