Stephanie, You are an inspiration to us all. My experience with
someone who went on a family cemetery and "read" the cemetery includng many many
many mistakes. Whoever allowed her to do it has refused to take it down.
I do not feel kindly to her but I think about the people who are researching
the people there and they begin looking for some of the non-existant people
she listed. They may spend a lot of time looking for these persons. It
is a small cemetery in Lincoln County Oregon.
Wish I could be as kind as your are.

I have been getting some comments off of the list regarding releasing the
name of this individual and I would like to expand on my previous comments.
First of all, I know nothing about her but I believe she may be fairly new to
genealogy. If I were to look back on my beginning years in genealogy I am
sure there could be a book written about the mistakes I made.
I have been dealing with her on a one to one basis and I am sure that if she
had an opportunity to throw me off of a bridge she would be looking for a
really high one because I had no intention of backing down and just going away
and let her know it. In turn, I got the results I needed but I left a very
mad and defiant individual. Her logic and sense of indignation is beyond the
scope of understanding when you consider that in a matter of 6 months she has
pirated over 11,000 burial records complete with information from two web
sites.
Releasing her name would serve no purpose. In my younger days I might have
burned her at the stake but I am older, wiser and have come to realize that
the choices I make today will be the ones I have to live with tomorrow. I am
a big believer in the old adage, Do something about the things you can fix
and let go of the ones you can’t.
I do not plan on living my life worried about some rabid genealogist with
revenge on her mind. The things I do when I am not doing genealogy are much
more dangerous and ten times more likely to kill me. My concern now is with
Find A Grave and their blatant disregard when this type of thing is reported.
That is where we should all be focused because if it wasn’t for their
policies there would be no problem in the first place. I hope you all join with me
and focus on them as the issue.
