I looked up my stuff last night and the date I have for the Marriage of
James E. Howell and Sarah ? is April 5, 1835. I don't know where I got
that date from but it could have been given to me by one of my Howell
cousins who have done more research than I. In the beginning, like so
many of us, I wasn't very good at citing my sources. I am much better
about it now.
Thanks again for taking the time to look for this.
Dale
P.S. That marriage date would work with their first child being born on
Feb. 23, 1836.
Dale; I always forget that most email gets scrunched; the Johnson is the
county of marriage, so now it is smorgasboard time depeding on whether
the
1843 date matches or the the "about 1837"
what that says is Howell, James T. married Sarah S Rentrfo on 10
January
1843 in Johnson Co. Illinois. I didn't find Sarah Shadwell in the index
with
a Howell, but talk about name coincidnces, this may not be your line,
but I
bet it is connected to the earlier marriage i posted;

Huh, is she named for the county, or for an ancestor the county was
named
for??

I will have to look that up at home. I am confused by the Howell, James
T Johnson though. What does that mean? I know that my James middle
name was Ellison because I have seen it on several documents including
land records that I got from the BLM site.
