Yes, my Atterbury's did pass through Chester County, South Carolina.  Below is the ancestor line of my ancestor.



--- 1st Generation ---

 

1.  Greene Rufus Pinckney1 Atterbury #1983 in "The Descendants of William Atterbury, 1733 English emigrant" by Voncille Attebery Winter & Wilma Attebery Mitchell; Published in 1984, V.A. Winter (Oklahoma City, OK).  He was born on 23 Apr 1827 at Howard County, Missouri.  He married Mary Emmaline "Emeline" Agee, daughter of Isaac Agee and Cordelia Thornton, on 2 Jan 1851 at DeKalb County, Missouri.  He emigrated in 1852.[i]  He received a donation land claim at Gopher Valley, Yamhill County, Oregon.[ii]  He appeared on the census of 1860 at Willamina, Yamhill County, Oregon.  He witnessed the marriage of Benjamin Coats Agee and Sarah Elizabeth Lady on 22 Jan 1863 at Yamhill County, Oregon.[iii],[iv]  He appeared on the census of 13 Aug 1870 at Sheridan, Yamhill County, Oregon.  He emigrated.[v]  He appeared on the census of 16 Jun 1880 at Mount Scott, Douglas County, Oregon.[vi]  He died in Oak Creek, Douglas County, Oregon, on 21 Nov 1899, at the age of 72.  He was buried after 21 Nov 1899 at Oak Creek Cemetery, Oak Creek, Douglas County, Oregon.

 

 

--- 2nd Generation ---

 

2.  Greenberry2 Atterbury was born on 22 Feb 1799 at Chester County, South Carolina.  He moved to Kentucky 1803 then to MO in 1817 (Conrad, Vol. I) - lived for three years in Cooper Co. then Howard Co. in 1844 moved to DeKalb Co (Source-History of DeKalb County p. 304; Source-DeKalb County p. 547).[vii]  He married Elizabeth Butler on 4 Mar 1824 at Howard County, Missouri.  He died in Maysville, DeKalb County, Missouri, between 24 Nov 1882 and 24 Nov 1883.  He was buried at Atterbury Cemetery, Clarksdale, DeKalb County, Missouri.

 

3.  Elizabeth2 Butler was born on 21 May 1802 at Georgia.  She married Greenberry Atterbury, son of James Atterbury and Dorcas Wilkerson, on 4 Mar 1824 at Howard County, Missouri.  She died in Missouri on 21 Sep 1860, at the age of 58.  She was buried after 21 Sep 1860 at Atterbury Cemetery, Clarksdale, DeKalb County, Missouri.

 

 

--- 3rd Generation ---

 

4.  James3 Atterbury was born in 1758 at Virginia.  He married Dorcas Wilkerson.  He died in Monroe County, Missouri, in 1843.  He was buried at Madison, Monroe County, Missouri.

 

5.  Dorcas3 Wilkerson was born between 1761 and 1766 at England.  She was also known as Dorcas McKinsor Glendia White listed McKinsor or Wilkerson.  Her married name was Atterbury.  She married James Atterbury, son of William Atterbury and Sarah (--?--).

8.  William4 Atterbury married Sarah (--?--) b ca 1727.  He was born between 1710 and 1712.
