I don't have ready access to that information. I have a file of "promises" for when I get time to go to the state University and browse their newpaper files, but it has been accumulating for about ten years and so far hasn't seen much action. I will add yours to the list though.

In the history of Umatilla Co by Col. William Parsons there is a bio on a Robert Nelson Stanfield born in Sangamon Co., Illinois in 1832 who arrived in Umatilla Co by way of California, but nothing on your guy.

I have another book Historical Sketchs of Umatilla co and three Washington, Terr. Counties that also doesn't seem to have your folks.

New to list.  Looking for John P. Stanfield orbit.  Born Dec 26, 1824 in East Tennessee, died Oct 14, 1894.  Buried in Weston Cemetery, Weston, Umatilla Co, OR.  Also wife, Elizabeth Ann (Edwards) Stanfield, daughter of James and ____ Edwards.  Born March 24, 1837; died Feb 8, 1896.  Buried in Weston, Umatilla Co., OR.  Married in Forest Grove, Washington Co, OR.  The paper at that time was "Weston Leader."  John P. possibly born in Greene County or Blount County, Tennessee.  Any help appreciated.
