Robyn

You'd be doing us a great service, I think. There is an awful lot of stuff
on the Linn site.

Thanks,

Pat

Subject: [or-roots] AGHP - alive or dead...

AHGP is the acronym for the American History and Genealogy Project, of which
each state has a coordinator and then county hosts, much the same as
Genealogytrails.com and USGenweb. Oregon's link is
http://www.oregongenealogy.com/ahgp/index.htm and it is still very much
alive.

The links off of the http://www.linncountyroots.com/EarlySettlers.htm page
point to http://linnhistory.peak.org, which is the webpages that are now
only on the Internet Archive. My suspicion is that the Linnhistory site used
to be the AGHP page for Linn county, but for whatever reason, their
information went dark. I will have to see if there is still some valid
contact information for Linnhistory on the old pages and see if their
material can't be migrated to either Genealogytrails or Usgenweb, so
researchers can still find it. Most people won't have a group like us to ask
that can find it in the Internet archives!
