I can sure relate to not being able to read your own notes. I run into that
at work a lot where I will write info on a stake and the contractor can't
figure out what I meant, then instead of calling us to find out they just
build it wrong and it's my fault.

Of course then there was the famous episode of my letter to my brother which
when it arrived my sister-in-law called him at work to say she couldn't read
it, not because of my handwriting though, it was typed. I guess I had a bad
day cause when I looked at my copy of the letter I couldn't read it either.

Good for you to find these. As to the "F" and "T" I haven't found it in the
1900, but sure do in the earlier censuses, as the "F" and "T" were much
closer in looks than today.

Last week I had a Trent - Frantie - Frent in three different censuses.
Should have been Trent in all three.

This was not, in all cases, the transcribers problem. As I recall the
"Frantie" was spelled out by the enumerator that way.  Probably couldn't
read his notes when he went to do the master copy.
