Yes Dale - it's still called Prairie City, but was originally called Dixie
Town. Roxanne Smith has created a marvelous website for Grant County at:
_http://gesswhoto.com/grant.htm_ (http://gesswhoto.com/grant.htm) .
Prairie City is covered quite well there - I just went there to check it out &
the names bring back such wonderful memories of our years there. You can find
the Grant County Genealogical Society's president's name & email address
at the bottom of that website. (I was a member when we started that society.)
Years ago we visited my dentist, Virgil Belknap in Idaho, before we moved
to Prairie City. He told me he was born there & indeed his father was a
prominent Prairie City doctor. My little granddaughter used to call it
"Pretty City" and that's very appropriate! Grant County people are wonderful &
I miss them.

I have a question. Is Prairie City still called that and has that always
been its name?
