Les, in your original post you said you hoped someone had access to the 
Calif Birth Index, which I do.  You didn't mention what you wanted 
checked on that index.

Do his friends know if he was married?  I didn't find anything on the 
Califor Marriage Index, Nevada Marriages or Washington Marriage Records.

I sent a not to the individual who has a tree on Ancestry.com with his 
name listed as family to see if we can find out anything.
