A brief Google search doesn't show a Judge Gilbert that would fit your description. From the phrasing, "Circuit Judge Gilbert" was likely a state circuit court judge, and not the federal judge from Portland that served in San Francisco during the 1920s (a federal court would not handle a divorce). Being in the Oregonian, it was also likely that a divorce decree reported would be from one of the counties close to Portland so I would draw a circle on the map and start exploring each county's circuit court - Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, etc.

A default divorce decree for the couple was announced in the Oregonian newspaper on 02 May 1930. The decree was granted by "Circuit Judge Gilbert". Would anyone know which city/county court Judge Gilbert is known to work out of? Where would I write to get a copy of the divorce petition?
Thanks for your help!!!

P.S., Also in the Oregonian, on 14 Dec 1935, a Glenn Butler of 1505 Southwest Mill St., was busted for DUI. I am a deputy sheriff here in Utah and would really love to get a copy of the DUI arrest report. Any suggestions???
